A 2 Z - Bread & Butter (Dada Life Remix)

A 2 Z's "Bread & Butter" is the most recent collaborative work from widely known John Acquaviva and Ramon Zenker. German-born Zenker has been around since the late 1980s, scoring hits with trance, eurodance and house projects like Fragma and Honesty 69 (who most notably brought back the simulated female orgasm a la "Je T'aime Moi Non Plus" in 1989 with "French Kiss"). As one half of the Hardfloor duo, Zenker is considered, in part, responsible for bringing acid house to prominence in the 1990s.

Canadian producer, Acquaviva, in addition to sounding like the perfect brand name for a cologne, has spent almost 25 years in the music industry. Sadly, in my insular little universe, he'd always remained a sort of enigma for ages. Releasing a steady mix of material on respected labels like Studio !K7, Definitive, Turbo and Mute seem like minor accomplishments when you consider the following: he's the co-founder of both Plus 8 Records and Beatport with minimalicious Richie Hawtin. He was also one of the first people to ever record with Final Scratch.

On to the third part of this equation, Dada Life. One can only deduce that
Stefan Engblom and Olle CorneƩr, in spite of their names, must be Swedish given their string of releases on John Dahlback's Pickadoll label. If they describe their sound as "crashing into a wall with a smile on your face" then this remix must be like riding a rollercoaster without a safety harness. Their current mix for June features some of my favorites this month as well (ie. T.Raumschmiere who was one of the first electronic artists I'd ever seen way back when), so it's worth a download as is a majority of their back catalog.

Now that you've all been properly introduced, put 'em all together and what do you get? Bing bong.
