LFO - Tan Ta Ra (Moby Remix)Admittedly, not that big of a fan when it comes to Moby despite other people going absolutely bonkers in his presence. When the CUT crew brought him out to do a rave DJ set at their first Masters of the Universe party, there were some pretty "enthusiastic" fans clinging onto the DJ booth for dear life, watching, filming and photographing his every move. Beyond creepy. I always thought the highest compliment you could pay a DJ or an artist involved dancing to your heart's content, not so much of this wacky fandom.
Moving on, what I do love about Moby has more to do with white pomegranate tea and the goat cheese and artichoke salad you can grab at his cafe, Teany. Now that they have yerba mate, it's easier to get your organic, crack esque fix during daylight hours.
This remix off of LFO's "What is House" EP, released in 1991 by Warp, grabs and shakes me by the shoulders every time I hear it. Sure, I may not have the best ear for music out there (self-deprecating blogger strikes again) and this is your run of the mill, typical house remix but it is undeniably my favorite track on the EP. Oooh! Listen! I think I just heard the thud of a DJ dropping dead after reading that one.
