Modeselektor - Modeselektor's Raveanthem (UPS Edit)Well, in lieu of last night's Modeselektor show in Brooklyn, here's an edit of the aforementioned song that samples Tomas Andersson's "Numb" single. This is the second track on the B side of the 2004 12" release, Turn Deaf!, put out by the ultra fabulous BPitch Control. If you missed this the first time around then here's your chance to catch up. I'm feeling rather generous today so here's the original "Numb" track, not the Ellen Allien version that seems to be passing itself off as such.
Tomas Andersson - NumbAfter missing Modeselektor in Berlin in 2005 after a five hour train ride from Prague then missing them at APT in New York in 2006 when I was mid-air on a plane to Lyon and having no opportunity whatsoever to see them in 2007, suffice it to say that last night was above and beyond epic, exceeding every single one of my expectations. Whether you consider it a hyperbolic statement or not, I don't think I'll ever feel as exhilarated as I did then (being the uber fan that I am, sans the giant, #1 foam finger of course).
Oh, and by the way, your eyes did not deceive you. That was indeed Björk who was casually walking around the venue. Even as a disaffected New Yorker, I have to admit to being starstruck.
