Jazz Ghetto City

Randy Brusseto & JR From Dallas - Jazz Ghetto City (Lee Mortimer Remix)This Lee Mortimer remix was a completely accidental find while on a quest to procure more music by Berlin's own Oliver $, who, as per usual, I've already written about. What's the connection? Mortimer did a remix of "Hotflash Vol. 2" which was just recently released by Grandpetrol.
Lee is a resident DJ at the Slide party at the Zodiac club in Oxford which boasts over 12 years of underground house. In addition, he has a new label called Wearhouse Music which is quickly building up momentum with a handful of releases from Mortimer himself (who also goes by the rather unfortunate moniker Sawtooth Sucka) plus some new talent the label has scouted.
This track appears on the "Jazz Ghetto City" single on the Union Recordings label. It's definitely best described as the sort of down and dirty fidget house that has swept over the UK dance scene thanks to English DJs/producers like Sinden, Trevor Loveys/Speaker Junk, Hijack, Switch and Hervé aka Count of Monte Cristal, Voodoo Chilli and the more practical Joshua Harvey (it's like a mind-numbing competition to see who can create the most aliases, I swear). If you find yourself a fan of any of the above then this is right up your alley.
