[T]ékël - Vladivostok

Another blast from the past. This track probably has one of the best samples I've heard in a long time -- Quango Quango's "Love Tempo". While it initially seemed like the two wouldn't coalesce well, it does and it's rather genius. This only recently occurred to me after I'd gotten the Disco Not Disco: Post Punk, Electro & Leftfield Disco Classics - 1974-1986 compilation which features songs by Delta 5, Material and more. If that piqued your interest, I wrote about and posted a great tune by Material that you can grab here.

Quango Quango - Love Tempo (Remix)

[T]ékël's last record on French label, Initial Cuts, is a compilation of their singles from 2003-2007. While the "Sac D'os" track, one of the very first songs they ever released, probably received the most attention after appearing on Chloe's I Hate Dancing mix, "Vladivostok" popped up on the radar once again on Erol Alkan's A Bugged Out Mix. This originally appeared on the B side of their Ridvo 12" released in 2004 and if you noticed, that version does indeed differ from the one you'll find on their recent retrospective.
