Alex Metric - Whatshewants

Marine Parade must have a brilliant A&R department, snatching up wunderkinds like 26 year-old Alex Metric from the UK or the most recent, even younger addition to their roster from Canada, Sta. Metric's influences come through on this record loud and clear, from the omnipresent Daft Punk to the Ed Banger (Sebastian) and/or Institubes stable (Surkin). Hopefully he'll develop his sound into something less derivative while he's producing his first LP at the moment, tentatively scheduled for release next year. However, this single from the Whatshewants EP that came out in July will inevitably satiate those who crave some decent, albeit all too familar, electro complete with choppy sampled vocal.
