From France, With Love

Spitzer - Rainbow WarriorDuring the annual CMJ music fest I usually run into a plethora of people like the exceptionally polite Mathieu, one half of the Spitzer duo from Lyon. It's obvious that I'm no master of the French language, but I wouldn't hesitate to learn at least a few proper sentences in the future (that aren't dirty). However, shouting incoherently in a club, especially during a Simian Mobile Disco DJ set, while trying to decipher an accent is supremely difficult whether je parle français or not.
I've previously written about Spitzer's upcoming EP, Rollercoaster (see post) that's been making it's way around the blogosphere, but this is an exclusive new song that deserves equal if not greater praise. Brothers Brégère deliver yet another excellent track that will perk the ears of buzz-makers, electronic music enthusiasts and dancefloor dominators alike, not to mention prospective labels here and there. Get on the train before it leaves the station. That's all I'm going to say.

Hmmm, i wonder if the title is anything to do with The Rainbow Warrior, a Greenpeace ship that was blown up in NZ by the French government.

you know what's funny? i originally wrote a short bit about the title's possible origins but had no idea the french gov't was responsible for that bombing!
i think greenpeace got the name from the native american myth of a warrior (or warriors) that are supposed to protect the earth from environmental destruction. hm, the more you know. - At 12:05 PM EST, said...

Yes, the title deals with the Greenpeace boat destroyed by our gov't.
But, we like the way these words sound too.
