Client - It's Not Over (Azzido Da Bass Remix)If you didn't already see the article on cover boys, Modeselektor, in the October issue of XLR8R, it's a worthwhile read. There's a part where they talk about the move towards a more "maximal" sound as opposed to minimal, which has overwhelmed both the electronic music scene and lifestyle of those living in Germany -- from Cologne to Berlin. Wasted German Youth has certainly stood up and taken note what with their "Minimal My Ass" t-shirt design, which you can catch Jess in every now and again or our friends for that matter. I like to keep it simple with the standard WGY logo, Dave "Slap You In Public" Bruno rocks the Brooklyn Wasted Youth design while MSTRKRFT embellishes their laptop sans the "German" part. We love Paul Snowden, but I digress.
Azzido Da Bass appears to be on the same "not toning it down.. keeping it raw and real" wavelength with his most recent remix of UK electro-pop outfit, Client. I believe my ears fell off during the climax. It's part Boys Noize, part Vitalic, part Soulwax's Robbie Williams "Ravelight Dub", the latter being the one we've preemptively concluded the best remix that came out this year. Hamburg based Azzido, otherwise known as Ingo Martens, was featured on the second installment of the Kitsune Maison compilations but his current home is with the label he founded in 2006, Luscious Sounds.
