Kate Wax - Cash on Time (Dave the Hustler Remix)

Apart from being one of the most stunningly gorgeous women in electronic music today, Kate Wax has something else going on for her as well; vocals that range from sultry and seductive to a primal scream, live performances that are intense showcases of her versatility and a discography that speaks for itself.

In an interview with Vice Magazine, Kate admitted that her looks are what initially grab the attention of music goers, but when asked about the prevalent assumption that there's a man behind her production, I have to give her a virtual high-five for this response:
"That's still based on the cliche that girls know nothing about technology, cables and software. And that they are just the 'faire valoir' of an ugly man who's producing the music from his shadowy position. I am both, the ugly man and the 'faire valoir'."
The original track, "Cash on Time" appears on the 2006 collaboration between her, Crowdpleaser and St. Plomb, but leave it to Dave the Hustler , fellow Genevan, to turn it into an electro-funk wet dream. Dave did production work on Felix da Housecat's "Silver Screen (Shower Scene)" which was inescapable on the dancefloors in 2001. Quite frankly, on this particular release, he clearly outshines both Ellen Allien & Apparat and Surkin, who also contributed to the Kate Wax Remixed record on Swiss label, Mental Groove.
